After a survey done by the Ponemon Institute in it’s 2009 Privacy Trust Study of the United States Government. The study ranked the United States Postal Service number 1 among the 74 agencies surveyed. The ranking was measured by being able to keep information safe and secure. 7,000 Americans where selected at random to rank each of these federal agencies.

USPS also had an increased score in it’s privacy trusted score.

From this study we can see that as a whole we depend on our mail to be secure and the letter carriers have continued to take part in a trusting relationship with their deliveries through out the country. Lots of homes and business know their carriers by name and see them as trusted members of their local community.

Vice President and Consumer Advocate DeloresĀ  Killette says that “The Postal Service’s mission is to keep Americans’ connected, That includes a commitment from each and every employee to uphold the trust behind our connections to friends, families and businesses though the mail.”
